Supporters of Congress MLA fire gunshots in air to mark election win in Jharkhand

Medininagar: Supporters of Congress leader Bidesh Singh fired gunshots in the air on Thursday to celebrate the MLA's victory from Panki Assembly seat in Jharkhand, two days after the election results were announced.

"We have received the information about it and have asked all police stations under the constituency to give a report regarding it (firing of gun shots in the air)," Palamau Superintendent of Police Mayur Patel said in Medininagar.

Patel said that there was no report of any victory procession led by the candidate, but reports of gunshots were received.

Singh retained the seat this time, which he had won as an independent last time.
