Hyderabad: A 38 year old woman was found dead under suspicious circumstances at her residence in Kowkoor under the Jawaharnagar police station limits. It is suspected that she died from electrocution, police said.
The victim was identified as K. Saritha, wife of Partha Saradhi an assistant general manager at a pharmaceutical company. The couple has a 14-year-old daughter Sravani.
According to Jawaharnagar inspector P. Venkatagiri, Saritha was to attend a function on Sunday evening and was getting ready. She heated the water with an immersion rod and was suspected to have left it on the metal frame in the bathroom without switching it off.
“She started taking a bath unaware that current was passing through the metal frame used to hang a towel and clothes. She placed her hand on the metal frame and was electrocuted instantly and died,” he said.
Her relative, who came to call her, found her dead in the bathroom. Her husband who is an artist too was in the adjacent room but was unaware of the incident.
A case under section 174 was registered and investigated. The body was shifted to the hospital and was later handed over to the victim’s family after post mortem on Monday.
